Happy Days

I know its relatively old telugu movie. But, cannot take it out of my mind from last December. I mean i saw this movie at my fathers place with my cousins , brother and sister. Full movie was stored in the system and i saw it without break and without any interference from P (he was playing with his friend B).

Awesome!!! This is the word i get after watching the movie. Beautiful feel good movie and everyone watching would love to experience something like that and definitely would carry backwards towards your college/school life. I watched the whole movie with a huge smile plastered on my face, such is the impact i say.

I especially liked the character (oops forgot his name) who goes behind his senior, and the way he pronounces her name "shravanthi". Its just cute.

And the songs too are so good. Hardly 3 songs in the movie and "Are re" song is the one which often gets repeated like that of vikraman movies with S.A.Rajkumar music. Enakku theriyum ithu oru mattamaana comparison nnu bt to more emphasise on the positive aspect u need to compare with worst.

Do watch the movie and you would really love it.

(Oru concept thaan idikkarthu , why the gang members should always be paired with one another and cant atleast a couple remain friends - still its good watching :)))))))))))) )
Heres the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeFMdiRpsMk to the song.....

My current playlist comprises the songs from this movie only.

Boohoo..Iam elated

After a very long time, went to music academy. For my first experience - http://oreponnu.blogspot.com/2009/01/sweet-memories-i.html. This one was my second to the academy. The occasion itself was very special cos P’s dance school had organized for a show , showcasing the students performance as a group. Wowww…..We had a memorable evening. It’s a long time since we watched a show (pls don’t count the annual day functions in the school, they are different in the sense they highlight few students)

This program had performances of all the age groups – say from 3 to 40 . Yes, iam serious even non-professionals , I mean assorted group comprising of working professionals and house-wives too gave the performance.

First of all it was chaos all along till the beginning of the show. Chaos, because, P alone didn’t get his costume among the group of 15 children. Enn appadinna, the costume was a one piece with a long zip al a superman costume with red cape, and a golden belt.
P kku just chest varaikkum thaan original costume vanthathu, after that it didn’t go up at all, apparam thane kaiya ulla nolaikkarthu….. So, gave it back to them and asked them to re-stitch. And the staff there was confident that the costume would be set right by the tailor, “ madam costume eh porala apparam engernthu maaa atha adjust panna mudiyumaa “ nna, she said, “madam avar ottu thuni pottu atha seri panniduvarr” nnu sonna. Naaan aadi poitten. Hello, u have collected Rs.700 for the costume and that too 3 months back , so please enakku ottu thuni ellam vendam, I want it fresh nnu solli, pls take the measurement againnu oru 2days follow pannathula, costume atlast came on the morning of the show.
Ithula enna kodumainna, porala porala nnu solrennu, oru tent sizekku thachi kuduthutaaangaa. Its, okay, atleast we can adjust, nnu nenachu, we all started from home.

Now, the next stop was the “Green trends” parlour. They had instructed for gelled hair with spikes and make-up with gold glitter. Now, the make-up started.
First, he made him to sit in a chair.
“Uncle enna panna poreenga, oosi poda maatteeengale” ( Antha tonsils operation la irunthu he is little scared)

Next, he sprayed some water (from a sprayer called H2O) on the face.
“Uncle, naan kaarthaleye kulichitteen , moonjum alambinten, en enmela thanni kotreenga.” Amma, aanaalum rumba jolly ya irukku,

Now, he applied some foundation by applying in the form of dots all over the face.
“ Amma, nee ippadi thane veetla pottuppaa”
(Actually it was in the gents section and there came a wave of laughter at this question, maaname pochu)

Ippo he applied some lip gloss and the gold glitter.
“ Amma nee ithellam vechirukkiyaaa, unkitta aana ithu illaiye”

Oru vazhiyaaa, ella maanamum Green trends laye vittachaannu orutharam check panniitu velila vanthaaa, bill was around Rs.1000.
Have a nice day madam nu wish vera ithulaaa .

Amidst all the confusion regarding the traffic change due to the opening of the secretariat and the arrival of Singh sir and Sonia Madam (nalla naaal choose pannanga paa, they say Dravidian party nnu but they didn’t want to choose panguni and so they chose this day nnu nenaikkaren)

Oru vazhiyaaa, they took him and all the children inside before-hand for the rehearsal, and said “ we would take care, plz don’t worry”.

As usual, aathukarar ah anaathaiyaa thambi kooda vittuttu went for arattai kacheri with fellow mommies. Vera enna, all national importance issues like which movie we did watch, and how we would be watching the movies, (esp in drive-in theatres ) ithula padam paarkavaa theatre poneengannu oru nakkalaana kelvi vera . Namba mattum salachavangala , ithellam explicit ah solluvaangalaaannu samalichittom illa.

Now, the major part – Performance – Awesome it was. Really watching all those kutti kutties dancing especially was beautiful. And not to leave behind the choreographers and the organizers. That too choreographing for the kids and making them dance for the beats – really a tough task – it was brilliant , I should say. Kudos to them. And the dance company was “ The Swingers”. It was really breath taking.
Also, the performances by the level two children and the adults – non-professionals and the professionals were superb. The choice of the songs and the concept they had taken for various sequences were just wonderful.
Grooming kids performances covered songs like superman, fantasy , in the sea etc
There was a performance depicting a night in the museum and it was spectacular. Movements and the foot taping numbers really made the audience to scream for more.

On to P, he literally enjoyed dancing. Never once he willingly came to the class, cos he felt he would miss all monster kid and chotta bheem. So, didn’t go with much expectation. But, to my utter shock, he danced with utmost energy and that too smiling and laughing all the way .I thought he would be nervous and would just vomit and go everything on stage. He proved all my thoughts wrong….What made my day was he enjoyed the whole performance and was not at all conscious of dancing in the stage with so many people watching. And never once did miss us , I mean with strangers all along for about 4 hrs.

Not only Ps performance, but the whole show was fantastic. And i would really like to congratulate the whole team for the stupendous show.

VTV

Actually, iam like the jessie(Trisha) in the film. Enakku pidikkarthu, aanaalum illa mudiyaathu, ennala innoru tharam paarkka mudiyaathu... Its just a feel good film for the lovers and the romantic people who have been there. But, more than the feel good thing there should be substance, and definitely it is missing.
Its definitely not like minnale, and even in cop films like kakka kakka and Vettaiyadu vilayadu, the romance in-built was smooth and had some substance for the hero/heroine to fall. Ofcourse, love at first sight for one of the person but when he tries to convince the other or rather attract the other there should be some solid ground.
The flaws as in my opinion:
1. When hearing the dialogues only the scene from "devar magan" came to my mind. "Verum kaathu thaanga varuthu" - Konjam saththamaa ellarum pesalaaam.
2. Revolving only around two characters and after sometime it becomes monotonous and they could have better reduced the timing like that of 1 hr to show the whole story. (That means we have to miss the songs - athukkum oru vazhi irukku - they can do the songs like that of unnaipol oruvan - oru album maathiri )
3. Songs - Not upto the mark - enakku ennavo manjal veyil and adiye kolluthe simbu version la paarkaraamaathiri irunthathu. The picturisation and the songs should be fresh in memory to attract, IMO. But, ippovum intha song eppa varum, antha song eppa varum, en varuthunnu oru confusion irukku, since there is no uniqueness in the picturisation. If u look at alaipaayuthe, each song would be of different genre and would have been given a seperate treatment. (heard in some interview that GVM himself choerographed some songs - pls ungalukku ethukku intha vendaatha velai)
4. How did Simbu impress Trisha - the so called rationale, cool-headed girl . Just pesi pesiye oru train journey la impress panniduvaara -seri okay - but atleast ennathaan pesaraanga nnu kaatti irukkalaam- hmmm not impressing me though. Given a chance, he always hugs and kisses her, its more of infatuation than love,i feel.
5. Trisha family and simbu family kku innum extra screen space kuduthirukkalaaam. After some time, oh ithu annan illa appadinnu revise panna vendi irukku. Characters expect the friend manasula pathiyave illa.
Ippadi ellaaam sonnalum, i watched with my aathukarar whole movie even skipping my daily routine of giving food to P (asked paatti to give him while he was playing games in the system).
And without ARR's music , sure the movie would have sank without a trace....

kiddie Talks - 15

Monday
P was in a jubilant mood, while getting down from the Van itself. The reason being , he got a gift as part of the birthday celebration, in his school. Added to that, he finished his lunch and snacks.
So veettukku vararche ye he was asking me, " amma nee happy ya". Actually, this is our usual question and answer format.. If he does not finish his lunch he would ask " amma nee sad ah" and then would proceed to give an explanation or would put the blame on me - 'innaikku seekiramaa form a line sollittanga or nee en neraiya vecha".
As is the usual practice, proceeded to give him a bath. And we were singing "oh eesaa" loudly in the bathroom. ( neighbours ellarum - aarambichitaangayaaaaa nnu nenachindu iruppanga, but who cares ;) ).
P rombavum love and affection moodla irunthaan nnu nenaikkaren, and so he started hugging me and showered kisses like one AK 47 in a vijayakanth movie (never ending bullets).
So, i asked him, " Enna P unakku amma mela romba aasaiyaannu" . And his reply was through a song...
" Un mela aasa varala, anaaadhu aanaadhu say to me baby,
ponathu ponathu dodo me baby"

Tuesday

Yesterday i was too tired and fell sick in the night (athennamo theiryala enna maayamo theriyala, night la thaan odambu mudiyaama pogarthu, all in the day iam healthy like a horse)
Since P had a nap in the afternoon, he was wide awake at 10.30 pm and was nacharuchifying me to tell a story from Tinkle Digest. I was too tired to tell a story, so asked him to read on his own and explained him about my sickness. P yum romba chamathu paiyana didnt disturb me and started reading . When his father called, he also told him that amma is sick. His father came home after some time and after his dinner they settled for bed.
P came near me and asked in a very compassionate tone, " Amma are you feeling better?"
Words cannot describe the emotions which i experienced on hearing that. I was amazed at his level of understanding and the compassion. I was totally taken back and got a lump in my throat. Really, Iam so proud of you, P. (hope to show him all these posts someday)

100 not out!!!!!!!!

Hey know wat?????!!!!!!! This isssss my 100th post. Cannot believe , i wrote all these posts. Was just browsing through all my posts and woah wat did i find????
This blog cannot be categorised at all. Its a bhelpuri blog in the following order;
Kiddie Talks
Ramblings
Personal
Reviews
General
And i thank all my blogger friends for the continuous support and encouragement and especially Satish who withstood all my mokkai posts for a long time :). I think the momentum picked up from last December and previously it was just 1 or 2 posts per month.

I always had this inferiority complex about my English. My mom was the first generation learner and since she passed away early, the burden fell on yours truly.(enna oru modesty..ahem ahem).
I grew up literally at the mercy of tuition teachers, and that is one reason for my verithanamanaa teaching for my kid P. Whatever it is, i try to equip myself with the help of books and the added tool "search engines". Being the only child, my solace were the newspapers and the magazines. First few years, uncles and aunts were living in different cities and other uncles were unmarried, so this helped me to hang on to the reading habit.
Those days, even if it was not for my age, i woud read thuklak (grandpas fav), manjari, kalkandu, junior vikadan and the old reliable Dhinamani..It all contributed to my flawless tamil. Though telugu by birth, iam more comfortable and fluent in tamil. After few years , caught hold of siruvar malar from an acquaintance.
"The Hindu" came into our household only during my 10th standard and only through my compulsion. There was a friend P whose parents were doctors and she was their only child. And she would be having a whole golu rack of books with tinkle, readers digest and wisdom and archies. It was my first dose of English books and i slowly cultivated the habit with the help of local library.
English Grammar was like "pavakkai" for me. Even today i am uncomfortable with adverb, pronoun etc., (Got a book on grammar already to learn and teach P and they have already started nouns and verb for P - UKG- enna kodumai ithu). But, CBSE nngarthnaala punctuation, correct the sentence appadithaan kuduppanga, so grammar part lernthu thappichu common sense use panni score panniduven. But still inferiority complex ruled to the core.
And VP was our English teacher during our 12 th std. I was more tensed, adaadaaa ivvalavu naal oppethiyaachu, ippo maattippomennu nenachinde irunthen. I mid term got over and the mark sheets came. And to my shock, surprise and call it by whatever name you want, i scored the first mark and that is 67. Hahahahaaa.... LOL. And the guy who was more proficient in English and the class rep scored 66. I was actually confused, and confirmed my name in the paper and the total again. Serinnu appothaaan , okie namba english kooda better nnu oru confidence eh vanthathu....
Adaadaa 100th post sontha kathai , soga kathai maathiri aaache.....

So one more kiddie thing...

P daily follows this ritual of sending me a sms from his fathers mobile and the exact replica of the content goes as follows:
CG is a bad girl. She always puts me to sleep in the afternoon. She not allows me to watch TV , monster kid , new adventure of hanuman, chotta bheem. She always ask me to read.

Probes and Inquiries

A recent stampede in U.P killed as many as 63. This is today's front page news. And this news would be featured in the newspapers till they get another sensational news and once for all the whole issue would be put to rest.
Chief Minister ordered a high level inquiry into the incident. I really wonder about the purpose of the probe and the inquiries. What good it would do to the injured or the family who lost their dear ones. Is the purpose to study the cause to avoid future accidents or just to give employment to the retired IAS and other government officials. When the commissions or the so-called committees finish the inquiry, the whole issue would have been completely forgotten both by the public and the politicians and it would just occupy a page-12 column in the leading newspaper.
It is wise to teach fishing rather giving them fish. This has to be the mantra of all the religious and other charitable trusts. Why give freebies to the poor in the name of donation and make them stand like some cattle waiting for their turn. Instead, they can identify the poor and needy and hand-over them the necessities. I agree, its not an easy task, but why go for the number without any real purpose, rather go for few where you can make hell lot of difference in their lives.

Movie marathon

We have been watching movies left and right the past weekend.
Ulaga tholaikkachigalil pottaa ella padam+ new movies (online viewing) + pizza = great weekend.
We started off with Goa, tamizh padam, didnt dare to watch aayirathil oruvan (P bluntly refused to give the nod, saying athu pei padam, plz dont watch) then glimpses of thiraatha vilayattu pillai and asal. On the Tv front sat fully through Chandramukhi, gilli, anbe sivam.

Goa - Climax la ethavathu vithyasama kaattanumennu nenachu edutha climax maathiri irunthathu. Sneha character didnt have any depth atall. Just that she is a person suffering from some sort of mental illness nu kadaisila therinjathu, bt without good reasons to back up.
Just to show that they change their appearances on Goa , appadingarthukkaga, all three characters wtih parattai thalai , saamiyar beard and maavu mill pant oda kaatti irukka vendam. Whom they are trying to fool nnu theriyala, i dont seem to see such sort of persons in any of the villages i have been to. Infact , they are more smart than their city counterparts.

Tamizh padam - To borrow my aathukarars lines - "Avanga appa peru matttum mokkai illai, intha padam, en avane oru mokkai thaan". With all the hypes surrounding and thumsup signs from all of my friends, i was not able to appreciate the movie. It was more dragging and only few scenes evoked instant laughter. Eg, a la thalapathi scene...

Asal - Ajith innum Billa character laye irukkar pola irukku. Mannerism, dialogue delivery and the feel everything was same. Oru nimisham i thought i was watching billa-2, then sivaji productions banner paarthuthaan confirm panninden, it was asal nnu. Costumes of prabhu and yugi sethu = pathetic. Sameera - vaaranam aayiram sameera vaa athu... please...i want to remember her as in that song nenjukkul and not as asal sameera..

Theeratha vilayaatu pillai - Ellarum pesinde irukkanga, be it vishal, santhanam , sathyan, ammaaaaa sudha or others for that matter. Interval varaikkum kooda paarka mudiyala. The whole story line that the hero wants the best in the life is absurd. Basement eh ivvalavu weak ah irukkarche building mattum eppadi irukku. Intha building kku ennathaan architect, interior designer suppport irunthaalum yaarum vaanga mattanga...Ulaga tholaikkachigalil paakkarthu kooda time waste..

Anbe sivam - Woah.... i watched again for the 10th time. I like the dialogues and the suble humour. Was waiting eargerly for the tsunami reference (been doing the rounds in the mail earlier).

Gilli - Best ever film of vijay..again a racy entertainer not withstanding loopholes but with the fast pace you tend to forget the logic holes...

So, back to blogging after fun-filled weekend. Hmm forgot to mention, i had jigirthanda at murugan idli shop. Verdict - nothing but chill payasam with javvarisi sort floating around. Madurai la nallarukkumo ennavo. After drinking that i once again appreciated thirst quencher - H20 athuthaanga thanni....

Impressions

I feel people should travel a lot. It really gives u so much to think about and by various means of transport especially. By travel i mean,...
